Update of Digipoort

The government is updating Digipoort. If you are connected to Digipoort and if your company falls under one of the following categories, in 2016 you will experience a change.

  • Companies that share data about cross-border trade;
  • Financial establishments and insurers that share financial data;
  • Companies that submit requests for EU VAT refunds.

The information on this page also applies to you if you connect to the current Digipoort system before the 15th of March 2016 to share data about cross-border trade or before the 1st of May to share financial data or to submit requests for EU VAT refunds.

What does this mean for you?

In 2016 you will switch to the updated Digipoort infrastructure. Digipoort is the government's secure channel. The current Digipoort will gradually be phased out, making way for the updated Digipoort. From the 1st of November 2016 onwards, you will only be able to use the updated Digipoort. Read more.

What do you have to do and when?

  • Between the 15th of March and the 31st of October 2016, Digipoort users that share data with Customs, the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority and/or the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (RWS), will switch.
  • Between the 1st of May and the 30th of September 2016, Digipoort users that share data with the Tax and Customs Administration and/or De Nederlandsche Bank (The Dutch Bank), will switch.

Logius will supervise the switch and will cooperate with the authorities with which you share data.

Why is the government updating Digipoort?

The government is making Digipoort more future-proof, by improving the underlying infrastructure. The updated Digipoort will provide a more future-proof foundation to which new public services can be connected.
