May 25th: Young generations in the lead
This cartoon, made bij Maaike Hartjes, sums up the first day of WCIT2010 best. The cartoon shows that in these changing times the new generation should be leading the older one more. This was the main message of the first day which started with Commisioner Kroes. She concluded her speech with the notion that the older generation should profit from the younger generations' knowledge, openness and their willingness to share ideas. During the day other speakers acknowledged the importance of the cooperation across generations.

Het World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is het grootste internationale ICT forum. 2,000 gasten uit 80 verschillende landen gaan 3 dagen aan de slag met verschillende belangrijke zaken op het gebied van economie en sociale ontwikkeling. Door een wisselwerking van beleid en ideeën over ICT zal men tot oplossingen komen voor de ontwikkelingen overal ter wereld. Logius verzorgt samen met het ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties de track eGovernment. Om deel te kunnen nemen aan dit congres, moet u een uitnodiging hebben.
