Access
Reliable digital communication with citizens, businesses and fellow government organizations. For the aforementioned, access to your electronic services and information has to be properly organized. That is possible with DigiD (digital authentication system) and PKIoverheid (the Dutch Government Public Key Infrastructure).
DigiD is a digital authentication system. Using DigiD, government organizations and public service providers are able to reliably conduct business with citizens and businesses through the website. PKIoverheid ensures reliable electronic communication of and with the government.

Data exchange
The exchange of digital data with fellow government organizations and with businesses - simple and efficient. This is enabled by Digipoort (formerly the "Overheidstransactiepoort" - the Government Gateway), Digikoppeling (formerly the "Overheidsservicebus" - the Government Service Box), Diginetwerk (formerly the "Koppelnet Publieke Sector" - the Coupling Network for the Public Sector) and Digimelding (formerly the "TerugMeldFaciliteit" - ) and the System Catalogue.
Through Digipoort, government organizations and businesses can quickly and efficiently exchange digital information. Digikoppeling enables large-scale electronic messaging between government organizations. Diginetwerk enables authorities to securely exchange data within a single closed virtual government network. Digimelding is a single central point for registering inaccuracies in basic registries. The system catalogue describes the structure of the basic registries system and the definitions of types of objects, data and messages.

Information Security
Secure exchange of information through the Internet. For businesses, authorities and home users. GOVCERT.NL and the Waarschuwingsdienst.nl (Security Alert Service) aid society in this exchange of information.
GOVCERT.NL (the Government's Computer Emergency Response Team) is responsible for the prevention of and for dealing with ICT security incidents, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Waarschuwingsdienst.nl (Security Alert Service) keeps computer users both at home and in small enterprises informed about current threats from the Internet. It issues these alerts through its website, by e-mail and/or SMS.

Standardization
Good public services require a decisive and efficient government. That is also possible thanks to digitalization and the Internet. At least, it is possible if government organizations are able to cooperate with one another. To that end, organizations have to be able to exchange data with one another and reuse that data; standardization helps organizations to do so. Standardization means coming to agreements about the exchange of digital information and making sure that everyone's systems and processes are able to connect to one another.
The Standardization Council and the Standardization Forum provide government organizations with advice about how they are able to reliably exchange data between themselves and with citizens and businesses and how to reuse that data. The Bureau of the Standardization Forum (a division of Logius) supports the Forum and the Council. The Bureau performs research into bottlenecks in the area of data exchange and provides advice about the use of standards.
